Bucket List Duo: Lower & Upper Antelope

$335 per adult

Half-day · Both canyons

Below the ground, then above it. Lower Antelope’s carved colour and Upper Antelope’s midday light beams in one morning, with the permits, timing and driving handled.

We lead the journey. Our Navajo partners guide you inside.

Shun'Diin handles your pickup, permits, timing and the stories on the drive. Inside each canyon, licensed Navajo partner guides lead the walk and know exactly where the light falls.

Two canyons that look nothing alike, a short drive apart, in one morning.

Lower Antelope is underground. You go down 82 steps into a V-shaped passage where the walls close in around you in amber, violet and rose. Upper Antelope is above ground and open, with a flat sandy floor and gaps overhead that drop the famous beams of light onto the canyon floor at midday.

Most people pick one. Doing both in a morning is how you see what the same sandstone does when the light comes from a different direction.

Not sure which canyon is yours? We wrote the honest comparison: Upper vs Lower Antelope Canyon.

Both canyons in one day, hour by hour

Around 9:25 am
Pickup in Page, or meet us at the Shell station. The stories start on the drive.

Inside Lower Antelope. A 1.1 mile one-way path through the colour, then out on eight ladders with handrails.

Around 11:30 am
Back to the van for the transfer to Upper Antelope, then a ten minute ride in open-air 4×4 trucks across two miles of desert road.

Around 12:00 pm
Into Upper Antelope for the light. A quarter-mile walk, one way, above ground.

Around 1:15 pm
Out through the covered walkway and back to the trucks.

Around 1:45 pm
Drop-off at your hotel or Airbnb, with an optional stop at Big Lake Trading Post on the way.

Your Navajo guide

Your Shun’Diin guide checks you in and walks you to the entrance, then hands you to a licensed Navajo guide who leads you through the canyon. We take you back at the other end.

Before you book: Arizona time and what you can bring

Every tour runs on Arizona time, which does not change for daylight saving. Utah and the Navajo Nation around Page do change, so between March and November your phone can jump an hour ahead on its own. Set it to Phoenix for the day.

No bags of any kind are allowed inside: no backpacks, hydration packs, purses or camera bags. Leave them on the van, which stays locked on site. A camera or phone you can carry or wear is fine.

Hydrate the night before, with electrolytes if you can. The desert heat is not something you catch up on.
