Before your tour
Plan your day in Page
Arizona time, the weather and what to bring. Everything to check the night before.
One clock that matters
Every tour runs on Arizona time
Arizona does not change its clocks. Utah to the north and the Navajo Nation around Page both do. From March to early November, your phone can pick up a tower across one of those lines and jump an hour ahead without telling you.
Go by the Arizona time on your confirmation, not by your phone. To be safe, turn off automatic time zone in your phone’s settings and choose Phoenix. Not sure? Call us. It takes a minute and saves a missed tour.

The time every tour runs on. It never changes for daylight saving.

What you cannot take inside
- No bags of any kind: backpacks, fanny packs, hydration packs, purses, camera bags. Leave them on the van, which stays locked on site.
- No tripods, monopods or selfie sticks.
- No GoPros, camcorders or camera glasses. Filming inside the canyon is not permitted.
- No hiking poles or canes, unless they are the retractable kind.
- No open-toed shoes, sandals or heels. Closed-toe shoes with grip are required.
- No firearms or weapons, and no smoking.
- No drones anywhere on Navajo Nation land.
- Ashes may not be scattered in Navajo Nation Parks.
Navajo Parks and the canyon operators set these, not us. Leave anything on this list on the van; it stays locked on site.

Before you go
Questions guests ask
What time zone do the tours use?
Arizona time, all year. Arizona does not observe daylight saving time, but Utah and the Navajo Nation around Page do, so from March to early November your phone may show a time one hour ahead. Go by the Arizona time on your confirmation. The clock at the top of this site shows Arizona time and warns you if your phone disagrees.
Where do you pick us up?
From your hotel, Airbnb, or campsite in Page. There is no office to find.
Who guides us inside the canyon?
We lead the journey: the pickup, permits, timing and the stories on the drive. Inside each canyon, a licensed Navajo partner guide leads the walk.
Do you pick up from Amangiri, Lake Powell Resort (Wahweap) or Under Canvas?
Not right now. Those properties sit outside Page city limits. Meet us at the Shell gas station at 1501 AZ-98 (at Coppermine Road) in Page instead, and we will take it from there.
Do you offer discounts for military, seniors, AAA or groups?
We do not have set discounts for military, seniors or AAA. For groups or current promotions, call (928) 660-0687 or email book@shundiincanyontours.com before you book and we will tell you what is available.
